Your Plans and Ideas

“We will be hosting a Global Ethics Day workshop, beginning with the keynote, “Ethics Management – Calling NPOs to Action,” by Leon van Vuuren, executive director of professional and business ethics at The Ethics Institute. This is followed by concurrent sessions titled, “Key Issues for Ethical Leadership in the NPO Sector,” “Integrity of Services – A Present Day Ethics Challenge,” and “Justice, Vulnerable Witnesses, and Ethics.” — Zelda, Sophiatown Community Psychological Services, South Africa

“We will have a whole day event. Find the program here.” — Véronique, Université de Fribourg, Switzerland

“Seminars with our network across 21 territories within the Caribbean region, use of posters in public places within and around our offices to get the views of general public and staff, as well as social media posting regarding ethical dilemmas and focus areas.” — Kyria, NAGICO Insurances, St. Maarten

“We will dedicate an exclusive panel on October 16 to discuss ethics and sustainable development at our biggest event of the year – ODS Talks. The speaker is a great ethics expert, George Barcat, and our panel is organized by the younger ABRAPS members. At our event last year we had about 1,000 participants over the two days and we expect a similar number this year.” Marcio, Brazilian Association of Professionals for Sustainable Development (ABRAPS)

“Partnership with ‘Beyond 400’, which is an initiative through Virginia’s Campus Compact program to commemorate 400 years of slavery in America and support discussions about America’s progress and next steps.” Katrina, James Madison University’s Ethical Reasoning in Action, Virginia

“Healthcare staff, university students, and family members involved with eldercare will increase their knowledge of significant ethical issues which face them and their clients in the provision of eldercare services.” James, The NE PA Ethics Institute at Misericordia University, Pennsylvania

“In light of the climate crisis, we are inviting public and private organizations and businesses to a workshop for a discussion on resilient organizational cultures; those that are adaptable to the changes in the environment. In California, wildland fires, floods, earthquakes and tsunami’s demonstrate that help isn’t always immediate. This one-day workshop will allow participants to consider the impacts of climate related disasters on their businesses, their employees, suppliers, and the communities that they serve. The workshop will be a forum on how organizations can best develop a preparedness plan for the future.” Rodney, Fire Services Training Institute, California

“The Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia (BEIM) is marking Global Ethics Day 2019 with the 5th round table 2019, themed ‘Ethics and the Business Climate in Malaysia.’ 100 captains of industries will be invited to participate and an executive summary will be published following the round table deliberations.” Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia

“We are planning a free, whole day event discussing ethics and its challenges and possibilities in the near future, as well as its relation with sustainability and the SDG.” German, GEES-CRASP, Brazil

“We will plan a conference for participants from the corporate sector concentrating on #EthicsMatter and misconduct case studies.” — Oleg, Ethicontrol, Ukraine

“I want to organize a TEDx event on ethics and morals in São Paulo on October 16, 2019.” — Xiko, Aprendendo a Pensar, Brazil

Skolkovo Business School will be organizing lectures, panel discussions, and debates on different ethical topics with representatives from government, business and academia. “We plan to run this event annually as the main event of the new Centre for Business Ethics at Skolkovo Business School.”  — Tom, Skolkovo Business School, Russia
